What is thermal night vision and how is it different from infrared?

Thermal vision detects temperature differences. Unlike digital infrared night vision, it works in complete darkness, fog, smoke, or to see through light vegetation without any IR illumination.

Can Nightfox Arctic be mounted on a helmet?

Yes. The Arctic includes a head strap and dovetail helmet adaptor and is compatible with Nightfox Prowl 2 mounts and accessories. The Arctic can also be used handheld as a compact thermal scanner.

Is the image smooth when moving?

Yes. The 50fps low-latency thermal sensor provides smooth, real-time imaging, making it suitable for movement, tracking, and scanning.

Is the Nightfox Arctic waterproof?

It is IP65-rated, meaning it is protected against dust and heavy rain, making it suitable for outdoor use in challenging conditions.

What is the battery life?

The built-in 3500mAh rechargeable battery provides up to 9 hours of continuous use, depending on settings and ambient temperature.

Hands-free thermal vision: The Nightfox Arctic delivers clear thermal imaging in total darkness using advanced infrared optics. Multiple colour palettes and heat filters adapt to different environments for tactical, security and outdoor use
Low latency for tracking: A 50fps fixed focus thermal sensor with 256×192 resolution and ≦30mK sensitivity displays ultra-smooth images onto an AMOLED display. Suitable for tracking fast-moving wildlife, search and rescue, or security purposes, with a detection range of around 180m (100yd)
Helmet or head-mounted versatility: Includes a head strap and dovetail adaptor for hands-free operation. The Arctic integrates easily into helmet setups and goggle configurations, sharing mounts and accessories with the Nightfox Prowl 2
Compact thermal for situational awareness: A wide 24 degree field of view (FOV) better matches your natural eye vision than alternative models with narrower FOVs. The Arctic shines in close-quarter operations where a wide viewing angle is paramount
Lightweight, rugged and weatherproof: Built with a durable IP65-rated housing, the Arctic is designed for all-weather use. The 3500mAh battery delivers up to 9 hours of use with convenient USB-C charging. Record footage without sound onto the 32GB memory card
Advanced thermal sensor technology: Features a high-sensitivity thermal sensor with less than or equal to 30mK thermal sensitivity, providing exceptional heat signature detection and image clarity in various environmental conditions and temperature ranges
